The original Victoria School is a designated historic building in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The stone school house built in 1888 by stonemason Alexander (Sandy) Marr as the first school house of the temperance colony. Originally located at the Five Corners crossing at Broadway Avenue and 12th Street, the school yard would eventually be home to three school buildings as the population grew, the last of which being the present-day École Victoria School. The first Victoria School was dismantled and reassembled on a site at the University of Saskatchewan campus in 1911. The building is often referred to as the Little Stone Schoolhouse.〔(【引用サイトリンク】Victoria School House (Little Stone School House) )〕 ==Original Victoria School== Funding for the school was approved by the Saskatoon Board of Trustees in 1887, when the school board was authorized to borrow $1,200 for the purpose of building the one room school that could accommodate 40 pupils . In 1905 a two room school was built beside it. It remained in use as a school until the larger replacement Victoria School was built in 1909, then the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire undertook the project to move the building to the University of Saskatchewan campus in 1911, in recognition of the coronation of George V.〔 The building was used for storage until 1965, when the Saskatoon Council of Women undertook the project or restoring the school, and opening it up to public tours.〔〔
